Experience

Graduate Teaching Assistant | University of Nebraska at Omaha

2019 - present

In Fall 2019 I will begin my appointment as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the Mathematics department. I will instruct undergraduate math courses of varying difficulty and serve as a tutor for the undergraduate math students. 

Student Teacher | Belton High School

Spring 2019

I completed my student teaching at Belton High School in Belton, MO. I instructed 3 sections of Geometry and 3 sections of Advanced Algebra II. This practice includes all the responsibilities of a high school teacher along with additional self-reflection, performance feedback, and instructional assistance that is invaluable to my learning experience.

Tutor | Rockhurst University & Private

2015 - present

I work as a private tutor for high school and college students. I also have experience as a teaching assistant for various math classes at Rockhurst University. 

Student Director | Mathapalooza

2016 - 2018

I am in charge of planning "Mathapalooza" programs, which are designed to ignite math interest in young students. I coordinate volunteers, work with faculty directors to ensure the events move seamlessly and facilitate math activities at high schools.

Projects

I conducted a research project in which I wrote a computer program that approximates the square root of a number using calculus. The applications of this project have mathematical and educational relevance. I presented this program at the JMM 2018 Conference in San Diego, CA.
