My Work Experience

Graduate Teaching Assistantship 

In Fall 2019 I will begin my appointment as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the Mathematics department. I will instruct undergraduate math courses of varying difficulty and serve as a tutor for the undergraduate math students. 

Student Teaching

I completed my student teaching at Belton High School in Belton, MO. I instructed 3 sections of Geometry and 3 sections of Advanced Algebra II. This practice includes all the responsibilities of a high school teacher along with additional self-reflection, performance feedback, and instructional assistance that is invaluable to my learning experience.

Mathapalooza

I worked as the Student Director of the Mathapalooza at Rockhurst University. The goal of Mathapalooza is to educate and students spark their interest in mathematical studies. My role in this is to coordinate programs at Rockhurst and local high schools alike. I and other Mathapalooza student employees brought unique and innovative activities into local high school classrooms to show students that math can be interesting and enjoyable. We believe these non-traditional activities help students see how applicable and fun math can be. 

Tutoring

I work as a private tutor for middle and high school students in various math subjects. 

Supplemental Instruction

I have worked as a supplemental instructor in the Learning Center at Rockhurst University. This includes helping professors facilitate classes, holding after-class help sessions, and hosting private tutoring hours. 

Research Grant

I completed a research project through Mathapalooza to create a computer program that approximates the square root of a number, called "Linear Approximation on Steroids". This project has mathematical and educational relevance alike. This program promotes critical thinking behind mathematical concepts we use all the time.
